Jan Maria Dondeyne was born in Belgium, studied sculpture at the Leuven Art Academy and later became a teacher. Since 1986 he has been a freelance artist, an art lecturer at various art academies and has given painting lessons and workshops in his studio. In 1998 he was awarded the Otto Ubbelohde Prize and has had numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.
The exhibition shows a cross-section of his work, from landscapes, architecture and still lifes to his paintings of people.
